Topic: Breaking the Stigma of Mental Health & Suicide in the AANHPI Community
The presentation will break down the barriers by talking more about mental health and suicide, while also talking about how these two topics impact the Asian American and Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander community more specifically.
This month's speaker is: Grace Lee
Grace Lee is the Executive Director of Korean Kids and Orphanage Outreach Mission. As the only full-time staff member for the nonprofit organization, Grace has helped raise over $1 million dollars to equal the playing field for children living in Korea's social welfare system by providing scholarships and enrichment activities. Grace loves to create spaces for people to feel seen and heard as a former Director of Diversity.
This month in May, She just graduated with her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Georgia State University. She hopes to create more meaningful conversations around mental health, wellness, and suicide prevention intervention. As an Atlanta native, she loves giving back to the local community and was a part of LEAD Atlanta, Class of 2025.
